EVENT: Curatorial Intensive
Curators from across Victoria came together to participate in a two day Curatorial Intensive featuring forums, discussions, presentations and studio visits. This year’s Intensive has a special focus on Melbourne Now.
The first day examined three aspects of Melbourne Now – the collaborative approach to curation the linking of the visual arts with architecture, design, performance and cultural practice; and the commissioning of new work for the permanent collection. While the second day focused on site-specific installation, before concluding with a tour of River Studios by the Creative Spaces Team at the City of Melbourne.
The Curatorial Intensive was pivotal in bringing curators from across the state together to consider new approaches to curatorial practice and how these approaches might be applied within public galleries across Victoria.
Charlotte Day, Director, Monash University Museum of Art
The Curatorial Intensive was delivered in partnership with NETS Victoria.
