EVENT: In Conversation with Joanne Orr, CEO, Museums Scotland
DATE:
3 November 2014

TIME: 2pm – 4pm

The PGAV was pleased to present Joanne Orr, CEO, Museums Galleries Scotland in conversation with the public gallery sector in Victoria.

Museums Galleries Scotland is the strategic development body for museums and galleries in Scotland. In 2012 Museums Galleries Scotland released Going Further: The National Strategy for Scotland’s Museums and Galleries - the first single strategy to unite the sector in purpose and work towards a shared vision to achieve a more sustainable future.

For this event Joanne discussed recent sector-wide initiatives delivered by Museums Galleries Scotland as part of the Going Further strategy and outlined how they have empowered galleries to engage with their stakeholders to increase support for museums and galleries across Scotland.

The presentation was followed by a conversational question & answer session with the public gallery sector in Victoria.

Joanne Orr’s visit to Melbourne is hosted by Museums & Galleries Queensland in partnership with the Public Galleries Association of Victoria. This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body and The University of Queensland Art Museum.
