Furious Riding: The Kelly Women Narratives
Janet Goodchild-Cuffley

Furious Riding: The Kelly Women Narratives challenges the usual male-only perspective of the Ned Kelly story. The works in the series place women at the forefront of the narrative. Janet Goodchild-Cuffley’s 26 paintings reference Sidney Nolan’s Ned Kelly series of 1946-1947 in format and shine a particular light on several of his most iconic works.

Janet has spent many hours researching details to undertake this project, and can now accurately place these women and their stories into history where they rightfully belong. The paintings in this series are colourful, vibrant and evocative, and tell the Kelly story from a unique and refreshing perspective.

Opening: Saturday, August 5, 3pm to 5pm
