Arts Project Australia
Arts Project Australia boasts a beautiful gallery space in Northcote that features the work of Arts Project artists. Twice a year, Arts Porject Australia exhibit external contemporary artists alongside Arts Project artists, curated by prominent external curators who we invite to work with us. The gallery holds regular exhibition openings on Saturday afternoons, as well as open stockroom viewings on the first Saturday of each month. Artworks showcased at Arts Project have featured in international exhibitions, art prizes, commercial galleries, private collections and public institutions worldwide. Visit the gallery to view or purchase artworks by our artists and directly from our contemporary exhibition program.
Arts Project Permanent Collection
Featuring works of outstanding artistic merit, this collection traces significant developments in studio artists' work and informs researchers and curators of gallery exhibitions. This collection preserves Arts Project's visual history and contains selected international work. Support us by purchasing work from the gallery and donating it to this collection. Developed with support from the Bruce and Jane Dyson Foundation.
Sidney Myer Fund Permanent Collection
This rare collection of artwork by Australians with intellectual disabilities comprises over 400 drawings, photographs and paintings from the mid 1970’s that featured in two landmark exhibitions, Minus/Plus (1975) and Tommy’s World I (1980), at the Australian National University Gallery in Canberra. This is a unique resource for research into the development of artwork by people with intellectual disabilities. The Sidney Myer Fund acknowledged the special importance of this collection by supporting its documentation, preservation and conservation.
Most artwork found in our stockroom is available for sale. Arts Porject Australia are happy to prepare a portfolio for you to peruse - please contact Arts Project Australia to make an appointment.
