Linden New Art

Linden New Art is a unique contemporary public art gallery located in the heart of St Kilda on vibrant Acland Street. Housed in a Victorian mansion, Linden is a place where people can see and learn more about contemporary art in an informal and friendly environment. Our vision is for Linden to be a centre for contemporary art excellence.

Linden's annual exhibition program supports and promotes contemporary art by:

  • creating opportunities for artists to present new and cutting edge art in a professional and accessible environment through Linden Projects
  • presenting curated exhibitions that explore a range of themes and present cutting edge contemporary art
  • dedicating an annual exhibition to contemporary Indigenous art practice
  • holding an annual open entry competition the Linden Postcard Show


Getting to the Gallery
Public transport
Trams 16 and 96 – Alight at the Luna Park Junction and travel west along Acland Street towards Fitzroy Street. Linden is number 26 and is on the right. 

Tram 112 – Alight at the last stop. Cross Fitzroy Street and walk towards the Esplanade. Take the first left into Acland Street and walk a couple of blocks to number 26. Linden is on the left. Allow approx 30 minutes from the city.

Parking is limited on Acland Street, there are paid car parks a short walk away at the Prince of Wales Hotel and the Palais Theatre.
