Accessibility
Burrinja is user friendly for people of all abilities, with accessible bathrooms, parking and elevator access to the theatre, Black Box theatre, upstairs gallery and lower level car park.

 

Burrinja Gallery
Established in 1999, Burrinja is a multifaceted arts centre located in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges of Victoria.  The centre presents a dynamic program of exhibitions throughout the year, from solo and group shows to touring exhibitions. 

 

Collection
Burrinja manages a public collection of over 600 items of Aboriginal art from the Central Desert, Kimberley and Arnhem Land, and a rare oceanic collection of predominantly post-colonial artefacts from the New Ireland and New Britain provinces in Papua New Guinea. Membership
The annual Friends of Burrinja membership is $40 and supports Burrinja’s arts programming and regional cultural projects. The membership provides an annual free ticket and discounts for the Burrinja theatre season, special member discounts at the gallery shop and exclusive invitations to exhibition openings, talks and VIP events.

 

Gift Shop
Burrinja has a beautiful gift shop featuring the inspiring creations of local artists, Indigenous communities and social enterprises. Find limited edition prints, jewellery, cushions, books, calendars and a range of beautiful objects and educational resources in the gift shop. Our focus is on products that are beautiful, ethical, environmentally friendly and educational.

 

Getting to the Gallery
Public Transport information (train, tram, bus):
Burrinja is a 30 minute walk from Upwey or Tecoma Station on the Belgrave railway line.

Bus Route 699 from Upwey stops out the front of Burrinja.

Car parking is available in the Burrinja Car Park which is situated off Matson Drive. Visitors to Burrinja are encouraged to consider carpooling when attending events and are asked to consider our neighbours when parking and leaving.
